How to use Online Appointment Scheduling™ service?

Upon subscribed with see-a-doctor.com, a doctor's office will have a web page within the see-a-doctor.com site.  The web page displays information about the doctor and the office.  It also offers other functions such as make an appointment, reserve time for office, search for an appointment, cancel an appointment.  Another important function is update.  Update allows the office's personnel to update information about the doctor and the office online.

Doctor Login

Use this login window to login to the doctor office's web site. Type in an ID and a password, then click on the login button to login to the office's web page.

The doctor office's Home Page

Once you've logged in, the office's home page will be displayed.  The homepage has general information about the office: specialty, address, phone, and office hours.  It also includes a menu on the left side listing the following features:

This page displays additional information about the doctor office such as: secondary specialty, foreign languages, accepted health plans, hospital affiliation..

About Your Doctor

This page provides the doctor's background information.  Patients can find out more about their doctor's training, experience, and certification...on this page.

Make An Appointment

We're pleased to introduce yet another improvement into see-a-doctor.com's appointment system. The system's calendar has been redesigned so that users can navigate from month to month easily with no limitation on number of months.

Once clicking on "Make an appointment" users will be presented with the office's schedule of the current date on the right side and the calendar on the left side menu. On the new calendar, users can click on arrows to switch month. Clicking on a date will display the schedule of that date on the right.

The schedule is a table that consists of many cells.  Each cell corresponds to a typical 15 minutes office visit. To make an appointment, select a desired time in the schedule.  This will bring up a form that collects patients information such as name, DOB, phone number, type of insurance and reason for visit. After filling the form, click on the submit button to schedule the appointment.  Now you are back to the schedule with the newly added appointment displayed in the selected cell.

Search / Cancel Appointments

This feature allows users to search for an appointment.  For instance, a patient calls in to verify an appointment that he or she has forgotten.  

Users can click on search/cancel link to bring up the search form.  Type in the patient's name and click on the submit button.  A search result page will display appointment(s) the patient has made.  A cancel button is provided for each appointment found so that user can cancel the appointment and reschedule if needed.  

Clicking on the cancel button will delete the appointment from office's schedule.  A confirmation page then comes up to confirm the cancellation.

Non-appt Reservation

This feature allows users to reserve time slots for office uses such as lunch, breaks, doctors being out of office, holiday etc. Lunch time is now can be reserved on different times each day. (If you want to schedule a fixed lunch time you can still do that using "set up a typical schedule" feature.) Users can block different time slots on the same day. Once a time slot is blocked, it will be marked "blocked" in the office's schedule. The blocked time slot will be taken away from the office's schedule (on the patients' side) so that patients would not be able to book it.

To reserve a break period, click on "Non-appt Reservation" in the left menu, a calendar and a form will be displayed for the current date. Click a desired date on the calendar to display the reservation form for that date. Select start time and end time of the break period and click "Reserve".

Holidays can be scheduled in the same manner with start time and end time being start time and end time of your office hours.

Update Office Info

Office personnel can make changes to information displayed on the office's homepage using this feature.  User will be asked to select the type of information they want to update: information about the doctor or about the office, set up a typical schedule, and change password.  They also will be asked to provide a password for administrators.  This password is setup at the time of registration and can be the same or different from the login password depending on the doctor's preference.

Once users type in the password and click on the submit button, an update form will be displayed.  Users then make necessary changes and submit the form.  A confirmation message comes up to confirm the update.

Clicking on this link will display a text page that list all tomorrow appointments for the purpose of sending or calling reminders.
